Begin with a property survey

Map every intended run, peak, return, gap, controller location, power location, and cable transition. Record the soffit material, color, access height, ventilation, drainage, and any obstacles. Confirm the product instructions and local code before finalizing the plan.

  • Measure each lighting run separately
  • Photograph corners and transitions
  • Identify safe cable routes
  • Plan controller and power access
  • Note ladders or lift requirements

Mock up the light position

Pixel setback from the wall changes the scallop and coverage. Before drilling a full run, test a short illuminated section at the proposed position. Review it from the street and near the building in both white and color scenes.

Mount, connect, and test in stages

Install straight reference lines and avoid forcing track around conditions it was not designed to follow. Protect cable at edges, support connections, and test each stage before closing access. Power and voltage planning should follow the approved system design.

  • Dry-fit track and transitions
  • Keep orientation consistent
  • Test each completed zone
  • Document connector and injection points
  • Seal only with approved methods

Commission and hand off

Name zones clearly, save core scenes, confirm scheduling, and show the owner how to reach support. Deliver the final layout, component list, controller details, and spare parts. Work at height and electrical connections should be performed by qualified people using appropriate equipment.

Professional note

Product selection, power distribution, work at height, and electrical connections should follow the system instructions and applicable local requirements. Use a qualified installer where required.
