RGB creates white by mixing colors
An RGB module combines red, green, and blue output to approximate white. That can work for effects, but the result may feel cool, tinted, or less natural on exterior materials. Consistency also depends on calibration and dimming behavior.
RGBW adds a dedicated white emitter
RGBW modules include a separate white channel. For permanent systems used as architectural light, that dedicated channel can create a cleaner white appearance and reserve the RGB emitters for color scenes.
Choose around the everyday use case
If the system is primarily for saturated holiday color, RGB may meet the brief. If homeowners, hotels, restaurants, or mixed-use properties expect warm-white scenes most nights, RGBW is usually the stronger foundation.
